Deion Sanders is hiring former New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur as a coach for the Colorado Buffaloes.
According to Fox Sports, the former Giants head coach plans to return to college football as a coach. Shurmur did not coach in 2022, after he was an offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos. He was the head coach of the G-Men in 2018 and 19 where he worked with Daniel Jones in his rookie year.
The Broncos averaged just 20.2 points per game with Shurmur handling the playcalling duties in Denver. Shurmur last coached in college back in 1998 where he was Stanford’s offensive line coach. Shurmur is an offensive mind, which will be huge for Coach Prime’s son Shedeur.
Shurmur will join Coach Prime to try to turn the Colorado football program around. Deion is 27-5 as a head coach after three seasons at Jackson State.
This is one of the most anticipated football programs in college history. I cannot wait to see what Coach Prime does in the coming months with Colorado.
