Eagles Sign Former QB Tyree Jackson as a Tight End
By: NFLHeads
The Eagles made a personnel move today, the Eagles signed Tyree Jackson to a reserve/futures deal. Although Tyree Jackson has played as a quarterback since college, he will be making a switch to tight end in a similar light to the development of Tyrone Swoopes and Logan Thomas (who Jackson has been compared to).
Jackson himself played college football at Buffalo, and was an undrafted rookie in 2019. Jackson signed with the Bills on April 27, 2019, but did not end up making the final roster.
After sitting on the free agent market for a while, Jackson was drafted by the DC Defenders of the XFL in the ninth round. Jackson saw very limited playing time in the XFL and was a part of two blowout losses for the Defenders.
Jackson will now play as a tight end in the hope that at some point down the road he will have a similar breakout season to that of Logan Thomas.
