Background: A graduate student at WR in the spread offense at MANI under head coach Vinny
Marino. Lined up as a X, Z, and Slot WR.
Strengths: Has a muscular/athletic build with good weight. Plays with above average speed
while heavily utilizing make up speed. His make up speed is okay at best when stemming his
routes and eating up a defender’s cushion against in off man and zone coverages. Flashes
hand strength to fight through press coverage. Uses good FBI to find the holes in zone
coverage. Is a willing fighter for passes his way in tight coverage on intermediate routes. Tracks
the ball well on deep routes along the sideline. Is the primary target on WR screens where he
displays good vision after the catch. Fights through initial contact to gain YAC. Is a willing run
blocker when lined up out wide, using good hand placement to neutralize defenders.
Weaknesses: Has adequate height. Tends to get a rolling start off the LOS at the snap at times.
Runs with a stiff stride on short and intermediate routes. His overall play speed can vary when
running routes on plays where he isn’t the primary receiver. He rounds off his breaks on short
out routes to the sideline. When used as an extra blocker on the edge in pass protection, he
engages the pass rusher with a high base, causing him to not be able to anchor. In the slot, he
doesn’t sell fakes well when in motion on a jet sweep.
Projection: Z-receiver or slot receiver in a Spread Offense, West Coast Offense, or an offense
with Air Raid elements.
Summary: An experienced, prototypical receiver with above average play speed and make up
speed that can find open space in coverage, fight for passes, and fight for extra yards after
contact. Rolling starts and rounding off breaks cause him to play with little explosiveness.
