Arkansas State edge rusher Demarcus Hendricks emerged as one of the Sun Belt’s most disruptive defenders after transferring from Texas A&M–Kingsville, bringing an aggressive, high-motor play style to the Red Wolves’ defensive front. Hendricks quickly made his presence felt with his explosive first step, violent hands at the point of attack, and relentless pursuit of the football. Playing with speed and physicality off the edge, he consistently pressures quarterbacks and penetrates into the backfield, using his bend and flexibility to corner tightly and finish plays behind the line of scrimmage.

Hendricks’ impact was evident throughout the 2025 season, when he earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors after recording 53 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. His ability to take over games was highlighted by a standout performance against Georgia Southern, where he totaled seven tackles and two sacks, earning Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Hendricks also brings valuable scheme versatility, with the ability to align at multiple edge positions and occasionally drop into coverage, while his aggressive mentality and leadership presence help energize the defensive unit and create momentum-changing plays. With his combination of production, motor, and positional flexibility, Hendricks projects as an intriguing professional prospect who could carve out a role as a disruptor for multiple defensive packages as well as a key contributor on special teams.
