Standouts from Senior Bowl | Stock Up

I had the pleasure of attending the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama for both practice week and the game. There were many special athletes who showcased their abilities and improved their draft stock. Below is a sample of several athletes, who caught my eye during the week. They showed great upside at their positions, and made an impression on myself during the event. I look forward to tracking their careers in the NFL.

Daylen Everette – Georgia – 6’1 – 190 – CB

Daylen is one of the more intriguing cornerbacks in the 2026 class and showed this in Mobile this week. He is a dynamic playmaker, who is violent in run support. In the passing game, he breaks on the ball extremely well. In his career at Georgia, he had 5 interceptions and 24 pass deflections. He shows trigger, explosiveness, and timing in coverage. He has an exceptional wingspan for his size, and has good ball skills. He typically jars the ball loose, or knocks it down in bang-bang passing plays. This is due to his exceptional violence, timing, and ball skills. This makes him disruptive in the defensive backfield. He is able to blitz effectively off the edge and wreak havoc in the backfield. He had 108 tackles in his last two seasons at Georgia, most of which were solo tackles. His 4.34 speed will translate on the field, especially in defending the run. I also believe his speed can translate on special teams, as a defender or punt block specialist.

Thaddeus Dixon -UNC – 6’1 195 – CB

Dixon impressed this week with a great interception, in which he jumped a route towards the end of Thursday’s practice. He was also active in run support, flying to the football on multiple different plays. Dixon shows great instincts and awareness in coverage. He shows discipline and patience, but also breaks on the ball and comes down in run support with urgency. He plays on an island well and has potential to shut down his side of the field. I most like his body control, timing, and coordination as a corner. He can disrupt a play without making significant contact on a WR. His timing and awareness are major strengths. He comes up in run support, showing an ability to make both solo and assisted tackles. Everything about his play style is controlled, decisive and intentional. Multiple teams have showed interest in the senior CB.

Garrett Nussmeier – LSU – 6’1 205 – QB

Nussmeier won the Senior Bowl MVP, going 5/8 57 yards and 1 rushing TD. He managed the game in limited reps and led two scoring drives in a 17-9 victory. Nussmeier showed capable footwork, exceled on timing routes, and did a great job carrying out fakes in read options. Nussmeier showed competence with the football, mobility, and command. He led his team down the field on multiple drives. The one interception he threw, was a dropped pass by the TE. Nussmeier was once regarded as a 1st round pick, but due to injury concerns senior year, that likely will push him back to a day 2 pick. I most like his ability to create, in and out of the pocket. He shows good mobility, especially on roll out passes. He can throw off balance with touch and accuracy. I like his command, quick decisions, and ability to see the whole field.

Zion Young – Missouri – Edge – 6’5 262

Zion had an impressive Senior Bowl week, most notably on the Thursday practice. On Thursday, he was active and had multiple pressures on the QB. Zion shows elite physical attributes, as well as motor and instincts. His leverage as a 6’5 edge is very impressive. He also shows great eye discipline, and rarely bites on a misdirection. He takes big steps and gets upfield, but still maintains balance and stability. His versatility is impressive as he can line up in a 2/3/4 point stance, as well as multiple different shades on the offensive tackle. He is a dawg and a football player in the trenches, and thrives in the muck. He does a great job of setting the edge and rarely gives up outside leverage. Zion recorded 38 tackles, 15 TFLs, 6.5 Sacks, 12 hurries, 2 FF, 2 PBU’s in 2025, while earning a First Team All-SEC Coaches’ selection.
