Mississippi High School Football Player Killed in a Car Crash

Clarkdale High School is mourning the loss of sophomore football player Gavan Clearman, who tragically died in a car accident. The news was shared in a Facebook post by the program’s booster club on Feb. 25 and later reposted by Clarkdale High School.
Clearman was 16 years old.
A sophomore at Clarkdale, Clearman played offensive line for the Bulldogs and was also involved in the school’s archery program. He was known by teammates and coaches as a dedicated student-athlete who contributed both on and off the field.
Clarkdale finished the 2025 football season with a 9–4 record and advanced to the third round of the MHSAA Class 2A playoffs, where the Bulldogs’ season came to an end with a loss to Heidelberg High School.
The Clarkdale community continues to honor Clearman’s memory while offering support to his family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time.
