Former Bucs running back Doug Martin aka “The Muscle Hamster” dead at 36

Former NFL running back Doug Martin — known to fans as “The Muscle Hamster” — has sadly passed away. TMZ Sports confirmed that Martin died Saturday morning, though details surrounding his death have not been released.
Martin, 36, was a standout at Boise State before being selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his six seasons in Tampa Bay, he became one of the league’s most dynamic runners, earning two Pro Bowl selections and an All-Pro nod.
Over his seven-year NFL career — which concluded with the Oakland Raiders in 2018 — Martin rushed for 5,356 yards and 30 touchdowns, while adding more than 1,200 receiving yards and two receiving scores.
Martin’s passion, energy, and heart on the field made him a fan favorite and respected teammate. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
