According to the Lexington Police Department, the case was investigated by detectives in the Special Victim Section for more than a month before Wilcox’s arrest. He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center.

In response to the arrest, a UK football benched Wilcox against South Carolina on Sept. 26.
