Former Alabama A&M football player killed after car flips in New Jersey
Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal crash in Franklin Township, Gloucester County, as 27-year-old Bailey Lenney, a former Division I college football player at Alabama A&M.
Police said Lenney, of the Malaga section of Franklin Township, was driving eastbound on Marshall Mill Road around 8 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle failed to navigate a curve. The car veered off the roadway into a farm field, overturned multiple times, and ejected Lenney through the sunroof.
He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he later died from his injuries.
Lenney, remembered for his “kind heart, laughter, charming wit, and the way he always cared for others,” was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first nephew in just five weeks, according to a GoFundMe page created to support his family.
Please keep the family in your prayers for the Lenney family.
