Auburn Freshman Blue Chip TE Arrested on Felony Drug Charge | Third Auburn football player arrested this off-season
Auburn freshman tight end Hollis Davidson III was arrested on July 28 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. An Auburn spokesperson confirmed Davidson has been suspended for violating team rules after taking part in early preseason workouts.
The charges stem from a June 19 incident in Peachtree City, Georgia, where officers approached Davidson outside a closed business near a golf cart. Police say they found loose marijuana in the golf cart and a THC vape pen in his pocket. An arrest warrant was not issued until July 26, following lab confirmation of the vape’s contents.
Davidson, 6’5” and 238 pounds, was released on July 29 after posting a $5,000 bond. A four-star recruit from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, he was ranked the No. 12 tight end in the 2025 class.
Davidson is the third Auburn football player arrested since the start of July, joining linebacker D.J. Barber (arrested July 8 on three drug-related charges, including trafficking) and wide receiver Malcolm Simmons (arrested July 16 on a domestic violence charge involving strangulation or suffocation).
