The countdown is on. July 31st marks the national release of the Pittman’s Pocket HBCU Preseason True Freshman All-American Watch List, presented in collaboration with Draft Diamonds — a spotlight on the most promising freshman talents entering HBCU football in 2025.

This year’s list features an exciting crop of first-year athletes poised to make an immediate impact:

Jarvis Davis, the electrifying freshman wide receiver from Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana, headlines the class at Alabama A&M. He’s joined by fellow Bulldog newcomer Cameron Williams, both looking to make noise early under the lights in Huntsville.

Jadyn Robinson, a standout from Junípero Serra High School, is bringing his playmaking ability to Delaware State. With a three-star rating and the endorsement of former player Deshawn Jackson, expectations are high for the Hornets’ freshman.

At Howard University, a pair of towering receivers, Xavier Newsome and Phoenix Dicosmo — both standing at 6’5″ and over 225 pounds — are expected to give Coach Larry Scott plenty to work with this fall. Their size and athleticism make them potential matchup nightmares for MEAC defenses.

Tennessee State Head Coach Reggie Barlow is fired up about the arrivals of Jayden Guy from Blackman High School and Parker Harden from Pickerington High School in Ohio. These two bring grit and high football IQ to Nashville.

Another name drawing serious attention is Christian Williams at Alabama State. At 6’3″ and 245 pounds, the 3-star freshman is already earning buzz as a game-changer for Coach Eddie Robinson Jr.

Over at Jackson State, head coach T.C. Taylor continues to reload with elite freshmen. Kale Armstrong (Houston, MS) and Cam Evans (West Lowndes HS) are expected to see early playing time in the Tigers’ first four games — both are physical, versatile, and hungry to prove themselves.

This national watch list honors freshmen who are ready to contribute now — not later. With eyes across the country turning toward HBCU programs, these young men are carrying the banner for the future of Black college football.

Don’t miss the official release on July 31st, 2025. Pittman’s Pocket LLC and Draft Diamonds are proud to present the next wave of HBCU stars.
