Florida Gators Lineman Devon Manuel Arrested on DUI and Felony Weapon Charges
Florida Gators offensive lineman Devon Manuel was arrested early Friday morning in Gainesville on multiple charges, including driving under the influence and felony possession of a concealed weapon.
Manuel, a 22-year-old redshirt senior, was booked into the Alachua County Jail and later released on bond. He is facing one count of misdemeanor DUI and one count of second-degree felony possession of a concealed weapon or electric weapon/device.
According to the report, police pulled Manuel over shortly after midnight for driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Officers noted the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and Manuel reportedly admitted to using a THC vape cartridge prior to driving. He also told police he did not possess a medical marijuana card.
During the stop, Manuel informed officers that a firearm was located between the driver’s seat and the center console. A search of the vehicle revealed a Glock 20 pistol loaded with 14 rounds—though no round was chambered—according to local authorities.
The University of Florida has not yet commented on the incident or potential disciplinary action. Manuel is entering what was expected to be a key season for him with the Gators.
