What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I grew up playing a lot of sports from basketball to baseball but really decided on football because of the team aspect behind it. Also being a bigger kid my entire life, it really just fit into what I was good at.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment has to be bringing home the Patriot League Championship from last year. Seeing how the community of Lehigh reacted was amazing.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom is the most inspiring person in my family by far. She has always been the one that took me to practice or stayed out with me as I got extra work in. She comes to every game and is my number one supporter and critic. She drove me to be the player I am today.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

This next season I can’t wait to see how we adapt as a team from the success of last year. Losing very few guys we have such high expectations, I can’t wait to see us fulfill them.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would love to spend the day with Joe Thomas. Being a Cleveland Browns fan he was our light in the dark for a long time and just seeing how dominate he was for so long inspires me to try to replicate it into my own game. I think he just seems like a really cool guy too.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Lehigh?

I really don’t think there’s another place in the country where the guys are closer and play for one another more than here. Everything we do is for the goal of bringing success to Lehigh and through that, also getting success for yourself. It just feels special to play for the brown and white.

What should we know about Aidan Palmer the person?

I’m honestly just a simple guy who loves football and spending time with my teammates. Football is pretty much what my life revolves around and the other percentage is just hanging out with the guys. I do love a good Marvel movie though and spending time outdoors is always game for me.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offensive scheme has to be power. Knocking a defensive linemen two gaps down and seeing the ball shoot right behind you has to be the best feeling I can get on the field. We had a couple of those last year and they were my favorite in game movements.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I think whenever I face a challenge on or off the field I look to my teammates, coaches or my mom. Any problem I’ve ever had has been able to be fixed by one of those people.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Someone who just needs to win and works to be the best player I can be every given day. I really don’t know what life would be without playing football so I take every rep and down of football like it’s my last. I don’t know if I’ve met a more competitive person than me.

What stands out about your film the most?

I think my biggest attribute is how my athleticism stands out on the field as a big guy. I’ve played basketball, defensive end and tight end which have all helped me be able to move my body in ways most people can’t and use bursts of power to move my opponent. I’d also like to think my knowledge of the game has taken me to another level. Sitting in meetings with just my offensive line coach has really elevated my game.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I would have to say William Parton. He plays linebacker for us and is gonna be a junior this season. I’ve never seen a kid play with so much pent up anger and aggression. He is an offensive lineman’s worst nightmare climbing to the second level and trying to pick him up on blitzes is less than ideal. He trains like he plays every day and I think he’s in for a breakout year.
