Pittman’s Pocket: Phillip Webb Shines in CFL Preseason, Making Jackson State Proud and Elevating HBCU Talent

The Jackson State community is beaming with pride over their own making waves in the NFL and beyond. One such standout is Phillip Webb, who is already making a name for himself in his rookie season.
After receiving an invite to an NFL training camp with the Miami Dolphins, Webb ultimately found his new home with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL. And he’s not wasting any time making an impact. In this past weekend’s CFL preseason game, Webb made a splash with a scoop-and-score play, showing the same skill and determination that made him a standout at Jackson State.
His performance is a testament to the coaching and support from JSU, and fans are buzzing with excitement. Big shout-out to the Jackson State family for continuing to support Webb’s journey. The CFL is definitely feeling the influence of HBCU talent, and we hope it continues to get the love it deserves! Keep showing up, JSU.
