Delaware High School Football Player fatally shot | Police Arrest a 19-year-old male

Delaware State Police have identified the 19-year-old man who was fatally shot early June 14 outside a home near Millsboro. The victim, Andree’ Mosley Jr. of Ellendale, was a recent graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and a former high school football player.

Troopers responded around 2 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive. When they arrived, they found Mosley critically wounded. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.

Two other men were also shot during the incident and are currently recovering from their injuries. Their identities and ages have not been released.

Investigators say Mosley, the two other men, and 25-year-old Marcus Harris had been at the home with a woman who knew both Harris and Mosley. According to police, an argument began between Mosley and the woman, who told him and his friends to leave. A physical confrontation then broke out between Harris and Mosley, during which Harris allegedly opened fire—killing Mosley and wounding the other two men. The woman was not harmed.

Harris was arrested and is now facing multiple charges, including one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and three firearms-related offenses. He is currently being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $480,000 cash bond.

Counseling resources were offered on June 16 at Cape Henlopen High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again on June 17 at Slaughter Neck Community Center from 1 to 4 p.m. through the school’s Pathways Program.

The investigation is ongoing.
