What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Football is just built into my DNA. My pops played in the league for 7 years and growing up I played every sport but there is nothing like the game of football where you can line up across from some and hit them full force and not get in trouble. It is the ultimate gladiator sport.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

One of my favorite moments is the first year ever playing tackle football. My team went undefeated and won the championship. We got mini Super Bowl trophies and I told myself “one day I’m going to be holding the real thing!”

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Going forward I’m looking to achieve many things. Obviously right now with the draft coming up making a team and the 53 man roster. Also, I’m a Christian man deeply rooted in my faith and continue using my platform to further spread the Gospel.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

Lane Johnson. I’ve watched so much of his stuff from how he plays the game, to taking care of his body both physically and mentally. Always looking for ways to improve. That’s what it’s all about. The game is always evolving. He has so much knowledge and experience I would love to learn that first hand.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad inspires me the most because he came from very little and made the most of it through hard work and dedication. He instilled those same values in me and always pushed me because he knew what I was capable of. Nothing in life is given to you, you have to go earn it.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

It’s tough to choose because I have played in so many different offenses. I love aspects of all of them. It’s all about utilizing your talent, but if it were up to me, let’s run that rock! We led the conference in rushing this year and watching the will drain out of a defense after you keep running through them is awesome.

What should we know about Cameron Cooper the person?

I am a God fearing man that will give it everything I got and then some to whatever team picks me up. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

What stands out about your film the most?

I would say what stands out about my film is my physicality, violence and finish. What goes unseen on film is the mental warfare in the trenches keeping the defense guessing with dummy signals and calls.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

A challenge is just an opportunity to get better. You can’t grow unless you are challenged both in football and in life.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get someone who is coachable, violent, dedicated, will bring everything he’s got day in and day out and elevates those around me, and simply just loves this beautiful game of football.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

What is there not to love about football? It is a violent sport, where you get to brawl, you step in that arena with your teammates and brothers and go to war. There is no other feeling like it. The game tests your will

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Cortezz Jones, one of my running backs at Lindenwood who is in the draft this year. That man is the definition of a workhorse. He runs the rock just like Beast Mode (Marshawn Lynch). He is a tank. It takes multiple dudes to take him down and even then he’s dragging them for an extra yard.
