What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I grew up in a house of athletes, my brother and sister and parents played sports and my mom got me into football and I’ve loved it ever since and want to play at the next level.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Scoring against Buffalo last season in a huge comeback win, in which I blocked a punt against Stonehill and returned it for a touchdown and it felt great making an impact on special teams.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

Both my parents have been so vital to my success, but my mom has been a hard worker and supported me and I think about her on the field and I hope to make sure she doesn’t have to put food on the table anymore.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

From a team aspect, we’ve gotten so close to a Patriot League title and we hope to accomplish it and I hope to break single-season records at Fordham and get to the next level.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Tom Brady, I think has such a great sense of the game and I would love to learn about himself and how he handled himself on the football field and in life.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Fordham?

There’s been a huge change in the program since I got here and I like the wide receiver coach and you are thinking about the brotherhood and the team on the football field and I think that part takes us a long way.

What should we know about Garrett Cody the person?

I’m a relentless competitor in every aspect of life doing whatever it takes to win and I’m selfless and would sit with any person at lunch who is sitting by themselves and I do whatever it takes to be a better person and I’m genuine.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Spread offense, complete air raid, and I think we are going to spread the offense and make plays and get down the field and I feel great to be a part of that offense that we have at Fordham.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I have a great support system around me and if there is something I’m struggling with I’m not afraid to ask for help when I need it.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Someone who is going to come in and compete in every aspect and does what it takes to win in everything and do anything to help my team win and I feel any organization or program would be better with me because I’m willing to help teams win.

What stands out about your film the most?

They would be surprised by how fast I am and my route running and hands speak for themselves self and I play well for my size and I also play well on special teams and the range of my game would catch coaches’ eyes.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Fotis Kokosioulis put up some insane numbers at Fordham and flew under the radar and I try to model my game after him and take hits and keep going. But he definitely deserves to be in the NFL.
