With the UFL now over, I thought it would be fun to highlight five players from the UFL that should get signed by the NFL. A huge congrats to Birmingham Stallions on another championship win. The Stallions are no joke, so let’s find five players from the UFL that deserve a shot.
Chris Rowland, WR, DC Defenders – Only 26 years old, the former Tennessee State wide out is a beast on kickoff returns. With the new rules in the NFL, Rowland would be a huge asset to an NFL team and a reliable slot receiver. He finished the UFL this year with 262 receiving yards, but 1200 plus kickoff return yards. Special Teams players always get a shot and Rowland is a guy that should be added on that front.
Sal Cannella, TE, Arlington Renegades – The 6’5 pass catcher is a great route runner and has soft hands. He led the UFL in receiving touchdowns with six and finished with 496 yards on 53 receptions. Cannella was a dependable target, and many NFL teams could use a dependable tight end.
Adrian Martinez, QB, Birmingham Stallions – The 24-year-old gunslinger was a leader of Birmingham and proved to be a threat with his arm and legs. Martinez was a Hula Bowl alumni and deserves a shot, he won MVP in both league play and in the Championship.
Kyahva Tezino, LB, Birmingham Stallions – The 26-year-old linebacker was the MVP of the Championship. If you watched the game yesterday the 6’0 linebacker was everywhere and finished with two fumble recoveries and led the team in tackles. He had 94 tackles on the year with 2 interceptions.
Liam Fornadel, OL, DC Defenders – NFL teams are always looking for offensive lineman, and Fornadel was a beast at James Madison before dominating the UFL this year. Fornadel is just 24-years-old and can be an immediate impact player at the next level.
