Southern Miss football player MJ Daniels was shot and killed
Southern Miss standout football player MJ Daniels was killed after he was shot in his vehicle on Tuesday night, Hattiesburg Police said Wednesday. He was just 21.
According to Hattiesburg Police, Daniels was pronounced dead where he was found at the 6300 block of Highway 49. An investigation is underway.
Daniels was a star defensive back for Southern Miss. Daniels was a starter at cornerback for Southern Miss in 2023. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior moved to safety for the 2024 season and was expected to be a starter again.
