Overview
The Pittsburgh Maulers will be facing off against the high-powered offense Birmingham Stallions. Pittsburghs defense should hold up pretty well against the Alex McGough led offense, The Maulers defense is arguably the best in the league. Who will win this HUGE championship game, Birmingham is looking to go back to back. Is this a start to a dynasty? Or are you the Pittsburgh Mauler who is trying to go from Worst to First. A lot on the line for both of these teams.
New England Sports Reviews Players to keep an eye on:
Troy Williams, QB, Maulers
Josh Simmons, WR/KR, Maulers
Kyahva Tezino, LB, Maulers
Alex McGough, QB, Stallions
Davion Davis, WR, Stallions
Nate Brooks, DB, Stallions
Pittsburgh Maulers coming off 31-27 Victory vs Michigan Panthers:
The Maulers defense is going to keep this game close, In their playoff victory vs the Michigan Panthers the defense forced three turnovers. However Birmingham is very good at ball security but the Maulers are good at forcing turnovers thats a big piece of the game, if the Maulers defense can hold the Stallions down for a little bit; I would expect the offense to produce points.
The Troy Williams led offense is very good when it has momentum, Williams would complete 23 of his 40 passes while adding 203 yards with one touchdown. Pittsburgh Signal caller would record a QBR of 79.5 and a completion percentage of 57.5%. Williams is also a Dual-Threat QB and would record six rushing attempts for 36 yards.
The special teams unit for the Maulers is great, Josh Simmons is one of the hardest working WR/KR in the whole USFL. In the win over the Panthers, Simmons would have five returns for 106 yards. Simmons would also do some work on the offensive side of the ball, the shifty wideout would record six receptions for 28 yards.
Birmingham Stallions coming off 47-22 Victory vs NO Breakers:
Birminghams offense is incredible, no other word out there to describe the lethal offense. Alex McGough has been playing like an MVP for the whole season. “McGoat” many call the signal-caller for the Stallions would completely demolish the New Orleans Breakers defense, four passing touchdowns, 310 yards while completing 21-31 passes and racking up a GREAT QBR of 139.8 and a completion percentage of 67.7%. Alex McGough was on fire.
Davion Davis the Stallions Wide Receiver would continue to show why he deserved a spot on the All-USFL team. Five receptions for 75 yards with two touchdowns, OUTSTANDING this kid is incredible.
Nate Brooks, the shutdown corner would have six tackles in the playoff win over the Breakers. Brooks has been incredible all season for the Stallions and is looking to have a huge game vs the Maulers. The former New England Patriot is looking for another ring!
Final Thoughts:
It’s going to be a great game. Who doesn’t love a free concert ahead of the game, then a great football game? The USFL is real football and it’s going to be anyone’s game really. Both teams have a Three game + winning streak! Now will the Maulers get their first ring of franchise history? Or will the Stallions win back to back? Let us know! It’s summertime football, Here. We. GO!
