2016 NFL Draft Scouting Notes: Dadi Nicolas, DL, Virginia Tech
By Lijah Spencer (@tweaked74)
Continuing on with scouting notes we look at another player who considered entering the NFL draft last year, but instead chose to return to Virginia Tech. As always these notes are based on previous year’s film and will precede the full scouting report which will be coming very soon. Here are my notes:
Dadi Nicolas. 6’4, 236 Lbs. DL, Virginia Tech, (RS Senior)

The Positives
1) Nicolas is a relentless hustle player
2) Good Quickness
3) Has the ability to split double teams
The Negatives
1) Not a very powerful player
2) Needs to improve the use of his hands
3) At 236 Lbs he is a bit light to play DE in NFL
Dadi Nicolas is considered to be one of the top edge rushers available in this year’s NFL draft. He is a very effective pass rusher who has a quick first step which allows him to often times split double teams. Nicolas is quick footed enough to avoid blockers, and he plays with relentless hustle always keeping his legs churning. Nicolas is not a power player, only weighing 236 Lbs he may find himself being pushed around. He does need to improve his use of hands at the punch point. As a junior Nicolas had 18.5 tackles for a loss and 9 sacks. NFL teams covet a quality pass rusher, and Nicolas is just that. With another productive season he should hear his name called fairly early in next April’s NFL draft.
