Steelers will be without three defensive starters this week versus Titans

Troy Polamalu (knee), Ryan Shazier (ankle) and Ike Taylor (arm) have all been ruled out for Monday night’s game at Tennessee. This is huge news for the Titans, but the sad thing is their rookie quarterback has not been able to really seize the moment. The Titans are falling apart, so the Steelers should be fine, but I thought they would have been better last week against the Jets.

An already leaky Steelers defense will continue to trudge on without three of their better players. The loss of Polamalu and Shazier is especially concerning, as it saps the unit of both speed and playmaking ability. We saw that on full display in a loss to the Jets Sunday that could have been much worse if Michael Vick kept his foot on the gas.
