Pro Day Updates; Davis Tull runs a 4.57 with injured hammy; QB riser?

Today at the University of Tennessee -Chattanooga pro day, linebacker Davis Tull stole the show once again. After jumping a 42.5″ vert and 11′ broad at combine, he ran a 4.57 forty per a scout.

The scout told me about 5 yards from the end he came up limping. Tull healthy might be a low 4.5 guy. That is nasty for a linebacker. Several teams had interest after the pro day. I am hearing the Ravens and Bengals were very interested in him.

There were 4 directors of scouting in attendence at the event and here are the teams I can confirm (22 total were at the event):

Texans,Browns, Bengals, Vikings, Chiefs, 49ers, Seattle, Jaguars, Falcons, Colts, Jets, Cowboys, Saints, Raiders, Ravens, Titans and Patriots. Bills were not in attendence.

Derrick Lott did not participate and left early (sick).

Faysal Shafaat the tight end drew interest from the Texans after his workouts. No official word on his forty, but one scout told me they had him at a 4.68.

Running back Keon Williams also looked good. He weighed 238 lbs, ran a 4.58 40, 23 bench (personal best), 33 1/2 vert (personal best), and 10-0 broad jump. Williams met with several teams as well including, 49ers, Titans, Texans, and Saints.

Is there a Quarterback flying up boards?

Today Phillip Sims the former University of Alabama/University of Virginia quarterback and current Winston Salem State QB had a great pro day.

Sims participated at the Wake Forest pro day and the HBCU quarterback impressed the 32 teams in attendence.

Sims ran a 4.81 forty per the scout I spoke with.

Seattle has shown tons of interest in Sims and now Pittsburgh, San Francisco, San Diego and Carolina are on board.

Sims finished his workout backing the scouts up and hitting his wide receiver in stride on a huge post pattern that landed in his wide out’s bread basket.

The scout told me the throw was roughly 70 yards in the air and it was pretty. Scouts met with Sims after the pro day.
