What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I grew up in a football family. My dad is a long time football coach so I’ve always been around the game. I loved the brotherhood of football and how unique the camaraderie was within a team. I was always drawn to the game from a far, and once I started playing the game as a young kid, I instantly fell in love with football.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I’ve had a lot of favorite moments over the years. My high school football experience was a huge highlight. Becoming the winningest team in program history with the same teammates that I grew up playing with was very special. We had a dream and a chip on our shoulder to prove everyone wrong, and we did just that by winning back to back conference championships and making it to the state semifinals my senior year.
At Whitewater, our team was very cohesive and we all had a great relationship with one another. We were fortunate to play in a lot of tough games in front of record setting crowds. I’ll always remember those games and how much fun I had competing with my teammates.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I am giving everything I have to play football professionally. All aspects of my life are in alignment with my dream of playing at the next level. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with multiple professional caliber coaches that have developed me into the player I am today. I’ve learned from some of the best, I’ve stayed disciplined in my training, and I am extremely confident in my mental and physical capabilities as a quarterback. I am super excited to have the opportunity to showcase that in the coming months.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present, who and why?
I’d want to hang out with Tom Brady. I have a lot of respect for his story and how he became one of the best to ever play the position. He has a lot of great perspectives both on and off the field that would be great to discuss. I’d love the opportunity to learn from him.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
Both my parents have been incredibly inspiring to me throughout my life. They’ve taught me countless lessons that guide me each day. I want to live in a way that makes my parents proud.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
I love the west coast offensive scheme because of how the pass game operates. There are very clear and concise progressions so the quarterback can be decisive on the field. The terminology is very universal as well.
What should we know about Jason Ceniti the person?
I am a relentless competitor. When it comes to my goals, I go above and beyond to accomplish them. I pride myself in training and preparing better than anyone else. Very few possess the internal drive and passion that I have. Some people talk about it, but I live a purpose driven life every day.
What stands out about your film the most?
My arm talent is on par with any other quarterback in my draft class. I am a great passer of the football both inside and outside the pocket. I can make every throw on the field. I can use any arm slot to manipulate throwing angles and windows. Because of my years of training, I am absolutely confident in my physical abilities as a quarterback.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I am a very resilient person and I persevere through every difficult situation that I face. I understand that adversity is a part of my journey so I never back down in tough times. Keeping the right perspective, relying on my mental training, and staying in my flow state are the big ways that I am able to succeed through challenges that are thrown my way.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Above all, they would be getting a passionate leader and a dependable teammate. Playing for my teammates has always been my purpose. I’m not in it for myself, I’m always focused on serving others. The reason I can train harder, prepare better, continually grow, and outlast everyone is because I have my purpose grounded in being dependable for the guys in my locker room.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love how football challenges you in every facet of your life: physically, emotionally, and mentally. In order to be great, you have to be proficient in every part. It’s a difficult task to be successful in football, but easily the most rewarding. You become a great player as well as a more developed man of character.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
My teammates Matt Burba and Drake Martin. Burba has Larry Allen type strength. Drake is a super back. Both guys are very talented at what they do on the field.
