Bears 2nd round draft pick is suing NIL company after signing the worst NIL deal ever created
Gervon Dexter was one of the first players to sign an NIL deal when they came out in the State of Florida. Dexter was quite the NIL prospect because everyone in Florida new he would eventually become a star for the Florida Gators.
Well, now that Gervon has been drafted in the NFL, the Bears draft pick is suing Big League Advance Fund for violating Florida’s NIL and agency statutes.
Dexter is claiming he was not aware of a clause in a bad NIL deal that he signed.
Just how bad was the deal?
The alleged clause says that he’ll owe 15% of his pre-tax NFL earnings for 25 years!
He received $436,485 in the NIL deal, and now will be paying back his money over the next 25 years at 15 percent if he is not able to break the contract.
This is a horrible deal and should be reversed, it is almost as if the company knew they were screwing him over. This is why it is so important to review your NIL contracts. You are swimming with sharks, so be careful.
And if you would like to buy a shirt and support our NIL athletes you can do so in our NIL Store!
