To start off our new “USports Player Spotlight of the Week” segment on NFL Draft Diamonds we will be introducing Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald! Here’s what he had to say in our interview with him:

  1. Hello Eloa! Thanks for taking the time to speak with me. How are you doing? What are you up to these days? Please introduce yourself to our readers!
    • Hi! I’m doing great! Nowadays I go to school and study PhysEd at McGill University. I work out and prepare my team and I for the upcoming season.
    • I am a young Quarterback at McGill University, I was born and raised in Montreal Quebec, and have been playing football since the age of 9. I love being outdoors, doing sports and enjoying nature.
  2. What got you into football? & Why do you enjoy playing football?
    • My father is the one who introduced me to football. He played here in Montreal and overseas in France when he was a young adult. He is the one who took me to my first football practice with the Saint-Laurent Spartans, a civil team in the north of Montreal. Since then, I fell in love with the sport, and after one year I switched teams and played with the Sun Youth Hornets where I finish my civil career. Then played CEGEP with the Vanier Cheetahs.
    • I enjoy playing football because of the friendship and brotherhood you have with other players. When I’m on the field, I feel and think of nothing else besides what my assignments are. I love to play with my instinct and football is one of the only sports that allowed me to do so. That unique feeling when you are on the field with your teammates and having a packed crowd present is unreal.
  3. What are your goals as a football player and as an overall person?
    • As an overall person, my goals are to graduate from university, travel the world to witness other cultures and other places in the world. Eventually, I want to build a family and settle down. As a football player, I want to keep breaking records and win the Vanier cup. Throughout my university career, I want to win, be nominated for the all-star teams, and win the Hec Crighton. Then my goal is to reach the professional level and get a starting job.
  4. How do you feel going into your 2nd year at McGill?
    • I feel confident, we have some great athletes in every position, I think our offense will be really explosive, and strong. Last year we were young and made a lot of mistakes. With a new Offensive Coordinator and a new way to approach our offense, I think the league will have a hard time stopping us.
  5. What was your best game last season? How did you feel after the game?
    • The best game we had last year was the first of the season against the “mighty” Rouge et Or, we achieved and broke a record against their defense, we had the most first downs against their defense in years. We achieved net rushing yards of 207 yards and 391 passing yards. After the game, I had that excited feeling that football players look for. It was my first start and a great game; I could not wait for the next weekend.
  6. What’s your typical fitness routine?
    •  My typical fitness routine has a lot of footwork in it and speed training.
  7. What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
    • I am a huge fan of RPO but unfortunately, we did not run it last season, I really like to carry the ball myself, so anything while I am on the move.
  8. What would you tell a team during a draft interview?
    • I am a great leader and hard worker; I will do anything for the team to make us win. I am not the type of guy who gives up. I love reinforcing my relationship with my teammates and coaches by knowing them more than just on the field.
  9. What would you tell aspiring football athletes?
    • Follow your dreams, and be the hardest worker in the room, all roads lead to Rome! Never give up even if sometimes things don’t go your way.
  10. Do you have any highlights you want to show?
    • Here are a couple of plays from last season:
