What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Growing up I would always watch Ohio State-Michigan rivalry and also playing football in the backyard pretending to be Ohio State versus Michigan and I’ve been loving it ever since.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Getting a pick six against LSU in Death Valley, making it to the MAC championship in 2019 after going 1-11 the season before and my first game against Kentucky and scoring a touchdown those were the 3 favorite memories I have.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Continue to grow as a player on and off the football field, make an NFL team, and help the community back home more now that I am away from school.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Calvin Johnson, because growing up I was a Lions fan. Growing up seeing those game winning catches and learn about his experience and soak up some knowledge.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My sister Sanita, she is my oldest sister and basically a 2nd mother to me and seeing how she got through all these obstacles inspired me and made sure I had a 2nd role model in my life with no father.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

Attacking disguise 3-4 or a base 4-2-5 defense, it’s just a constant pressure and love being aggressive to get after the quarterback that’s where turnovers happen as a free safety.

What should we know about Devonni Reed the person?

I’m a well rounded person, I’m a great communicator, I bring great energy into a room, I’m coachable, I have a 1 year old daughter, I love the game of football and I graduated from Central Michigan with a degree in criminal justice.

What stands out about your film the most?

My ability to be around the ball and my hustle mentality I never take a play off.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Don’t panic, it only gets worse if you panic. React to things with quickness but also precision. I also look to God and he’s a big part of me dealing with challenges.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get everything out of me. A player who is confident and going to attack things every day, a player who has the right mindset and a player who will change the room in a positive way. Also a player who carries himself in a professional manner and a player who does the right things on and off the football field.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

It brings you new connections and brothers. Football has given me plenty of brothers and being called a brother is huge and I can invite these guys to my wedding and meeting all these people is my favorite part of football. And football has lifetime connections and I am able to learn life lessons from the game of football.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Darius Rush, alot of people had him underrated but now he’s proving everyone wrong and that he’s a top 10 corner. I was seeing him with my own eyes and I know he’s a great cornerback.
