What is the best restaurant in your hometown city?

• Easy. For all of the steak lovers, I’d recommend Cattleman’s. It’s an Oklahoma favorite in the stockyards that everyone loves. You cannot go wrong with any cut, and you’re guaranteed to get enough food.

When breaking down your film, what will stick out?

• Definitely my persistence and athletic approach to the defensive line. I focus on moving from sideline to sideline while always finishing at the ball.

If you won the lotto, what is the first thing you would do with the money?

• I would utilize my UChicago education to its fullest potential and invest in tactical business opportunities. But maybe a trip to the Bahamas wouldn’t be so bad.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

• I think they would say that I lead by example. I am approachable on and off that field and demonstrate my message through actions rather than words.

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?

• Just in case the name Jack Ross wasn’t short enough, people call me JR.

What is your degree in, if you do not make it as a football player, what is your dream job?

• I am a business economics major, and if I am not a football player, I would like to continue my experience in private equity.

What is your coolest life moment?

• While studying abroad, I had the chance to ski in two countries in one day, one of them being the Matterhorn in Switzerland. I woke up in Switzerland and in a few hours, I was having lunch in Italy. The food and culture I experienced and the people I met made this moment so incredible.

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

• It’s a classic, but easily Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi

If you could pick any actor to play you in a movie, who are you picking?

• I would go with the Parks and Rec version of Chris Pratt.

Who is the most underrated player in the NFL?

• DeForest Buckner, I think, is the most underrated player in the NFL. He was the primary defensive leader for the Superbowl contender, the San Fransisco 49ers. He is known for leading the defense on third down and year over year is in the top three of tackles among all defensive lineman. He is a force to be reckoned with in all categories of a great defensive lineman.

Take us through game day, How do you prepare?

• The time before the game is nothing fancy for me. I enjoy relaxing before the game, watching some film, listening to some good music, and loading up on eggs and protein. We play a lot of day games, so for me, it’s all about getting up early and mentally and physically preparing myself by noon.

Do you have any hobbies?

• I enjoy skiing, golfing, cooking, traveling and I dabble in some magic.

If you had to compare yourself to someone in the NFL, who would that be?

• If I had to compare myself to someone, I would say that I play most similar to Geno Atkins. Each year, Atkins leads among interior defensive lineman in tackles and QB hurries. He is always around the ball and making plays, whether it is tackles downfield, QB hurries, or sacks.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life and explain why?

• My father has been the biggest influence on my life. He has always been there for me, giving me advice and being my biggest supporter on and off the field.

What motivates you to work hard?

• I work hard so that I can give back to the people that have helped me such as my family, the programs, and organizations that have helped shape me into the man I am today.
