NFL Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Peterson Apollon, Wide Receiver

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. 1.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Growing up, all of my friends played football besides me. One day during the summer going into my 9th grade year, my friends made me tryout for the freshman team. After I made the team, I fell in love with everything about the game.

2.What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

1. Knowing your assignment
2. Hard work and dedication
3. Determination 

3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

My mindset on the field is to win my individual assignment every play.

4.What is your favorite workout?

Playing basketball is my favorite workout. I feel like it works on everything athletically such as, moving laterally, vertically and agility.

5.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment is going undefeated my freshman year in high school with all my friends and going 9-0.

6.What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

What sets me apart from other receivers is the fact that I can play the outside receiver and slot receiver. I can also return kicks if a team would like me to. I also play fast and physical, I’ll do anything to help an organization win.

7.What has been your biggest challenge in life?

Trying to get an opportunity at the highest level.

8.What role do you hope to have if you make it into the NFL?

The role that I hope to have if I make into the NFL is to be that reliable receiver. I want to be that go to guy that’s going to get you that first down or more.

9.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

The energy that I bring onto the football field is lead by example. My hard work and dedication will lead by itself.

10.What would a team get in a player like you? 

A team will be getting a 5′ 11″ dog that will go out there and get the job done.

11.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

What I would like to achieve as a football player going forward is to be a great influence on kids, by telling them my story. I also would like to show them where hard work, dedication and determination will get you.

12.What do you think are your biggest traits on the football field?

My biggest traits on the football field are my hands and my agility. I also feel like I have speed and quickness to get the job done.
