Former Packers GM Ted Thompson passed away at the age of 68. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Former Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson passed away last night at the age of 68. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel was one of the first to report Thompson’s death.

Ted Thompson, 68 started with the Green Bay Packers as an assistant director of pro personnel back in 1992, and would later return to Green Bay as their general manager.

In 2005, Thompson became the General Manager of the Packers and would eventually transition to a senior advisor for the team until 2018.

Thompson spent 13 years as the Packers GM and went to the playoffs 9 times in that time including the Super Bowl in 2010.

Thompson drafted some studs to the Packers, like Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, B.J. Raji, Clay Matthews, T.J. Lang, and Bryan Bulaga. He also convinced Charles Woodson to sign with the Packers as a free agent ahead of the 2006 season.

Last year Thompson was diagnosed with an autonomic disorder affecting his nervous system, according to Channel3000.com.
