Giovanni Lugo the strong legged Kicker/Punter from Savannah State recently sat down with Justin Berendzen of NFL Draft Diamonds.

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview on specialist Giovanni Lugo.

1.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Tom Brady because he’s been my hero since I started playing football the age of At 5. Why- He was overlooked and when he got his chance he took that opportunity and ran with it. He did not waste the opportunity, he plays everyday with a chip on his shoulder, which is very similar to how I play, whether kicking, punting or quarterbacking. The GOAT !

2.What is your favorite stadium that you have played in?

My favorite stadium I played in was at The Hard Rock stadium against the Miami Hurricanes in Miami Florida.

3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

I focus on technique and putting the ball down the middle. I’m a high pressure player and perform well especially when In high pressured games.

4.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

I want to be the most accurate and consistent kicker and punter in the NFL.

Adversity and being overlooked all my life.

6.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Having the opportunity to Punt, pass, and kick at the Orange Bowl in front of 80,000 people after winning the NFL punt pass and kick completion twice.

My senior year in high school playing in front of 30,000 people and bringing home a championship for my High school.

My senior year in college and bringing home a championship for my University.

Winning MVP for my school at the Spirit of American Bowl in 2019.

7.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

When I walk out on to the  field I’m a WEAPON. With being a weapon I bring confidence to my team.  I’m focused, I have one goal, nothing else matters. I bring positive energy to the team.

8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I fell in love with the game when I was five years old.  I have always had a special talent for the game.

9.What is your favorite workout?

High intensity because high intensity workouts gives you the best Results. If you ain’t sore u ain’t working!

For kicking workouts one of my favorite workout is high pressure workouts with one ball kicked every 3 minutes to simulate a real game. Because in a game you only get one kick. No do overs …..

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

Consistency, accuracy and when you put me In the game you have confidence I will get the job done, especially under high pressured situations.

11.Rank focus, footwork and detail based on what is most important to you as a football player?

Focus, detail and footwork in that order.  For kickers and punters you need to be focused first. Detail and footwork go hand in hand .

12.If your life was a tv show what would you call it and why?

I would call it “Giovanni Lugo Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat”  (Fortune Favors the Bold)

The reason why is you have to be bold, take risks, make jumps to make moves. Fortune  can  mean monetary reward, but can also mean quality of life and giving to other to enhance their life. In other words  making  a difference in your life as well as others.
