Cameron Smith the Minnesota Vikings linebacker is blessed today. He had successful open heart surgery yesterday. This may have never been found if it was not for COVID-19 testing. The testing found out that there was a congenital issue.

“It is really a blessing that we found this,” Smith said, “as my heart is severely enlarged and wouldn’t have lasted much longer.”

Cameron Smith is recovering in the hospital right now and the team is hopeful that the 23 year old will be able to rejoin his teammates later in the season.

Smith will be out the year, but he stated on his Instagram account that he is not ready to quit playing!
