Player Summary:

Redshirt Senior from LaGrange, Georgia. 3 star WR (247Sports) out of Troup County Comprehensive High  School and received 1st team all-state honors from multiple platforms. He played 4 seasons at Georgia State before transferring to Louisville. Marginal height, poor weight, with adequate length and good AA. Plays with good acceleration, COD, above-average foot speed, and solid fluidity in his hips. Solid twitch on inside release, he sells the outside with a hard jab and creates separation with good COD. He wins consistently on outside releases with efficient footwork and play speed, either accelerating past a DB playing at the LOS or eliminating their cushion from an off ball position. Understands how to use his acceleration to his advantage while route running, he has multiple gears and manipulates DB’s on vertical routes by changing his speed effectively throughout the play. Creates good separation on posts and corners by taking a subtle angle in the opposite direction before making his break, he uses good acceleration out of his stem to get open. Solid separation on hooks, comebacks, and In breaking routes, uses good COD and physicality with his hands to clear himself out of his break. Very good hands, he is consistent extending them away from his body to reel in catches. Excellent concentration displayed by his ability to track deep balls and make difficult catches in traffic. He understands how to position his body on back shoulder throws and 50-50 deep balls, despite his size he makes a good amount of plays in these situations. Good YAC ability, can be trusted to make players miss in the open field with good COD and solid contact balance. Adequate working with his QB in scramble situations, he is often miscalculating the capabilities of his QB when working the deep threat in scramble drills. Marginal physicality as a run blocker, undersized frame makes it very difficult for him to make an impact as a blocker in run and the screen game.

Scheme Fit:

Slot WR in pass heavy system where he can work vertically.

Power Statement:

Thrash can be your vertical field stretcher, he understands concepts and how he needs to stretch defenses. His weight puts him in the 10th percentile at the next level, that’s why I see him primarily playing the slot. He needs to prove he can win at the LOS vs a physical jam from a tall, lengthy CB with solid strength.
