2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Gerrid Doaks, RB, University of Cincinnati

Gerrid Doaks Cincinnati
Cincinnati running back Gerrid Doaks is a power back with a nose for the end zone. He has 6 touchdowns already in 2020.

Gerrid Doaks is finally getting an opportunity to start for the Cincinnati Bearcats and boy is he making the most of it.

As a freshman, Doaks dealt with injuries and lost carries to Mike Boone and Michael Warren over the course of the season. Then Doaks missed his entire sophomore season and watched Warren become one of the best running backs in the American Athletic Conference in 2018 and 2019.

Both Boone and Warren are now in the NFL, and Doaks is hoping to join them. Already this season Doaks has 6 touchdowns.

Doaks is a big back, he stands at 6 foot and weighs 230 pounds. He is not an easy back to bring down. The Indianapolis, Indiana native is so physical at the point of attack. He had several offers coming out of high school and decided to pick Cinci over Indiana, Ball State and Toledo.

In 2017, Doaks had 513 yards rushing averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Last year, Doaks played in all 12 games and finished the year with 526 yards and scored 5 touchdowns.

Doaks already has 6 total touchdowns in just 3 games. He has 42 carries for 145 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. He has also added 6 receptions for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

You have to love big backs and Gerrid Doaks is that player. He has a mean streak that is hard to control. The Bearcats big back reminds me a lot of Mike Boone on the Vikings. Doaks has great hands and will make you pay if you try to get in his face. He will bulldoze his way into linebackers. I love Doaks ability to gain yardage after the catch as well. He runs hard and is proving to be a great asset this year. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
