Jordan Addison has been one of the best receivers in the college football in each of the last two seasons. The 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner at Pitt is one of the best route runners in the draft and safe bet to develop into at least a solid receiver at the next level.

This scouting report is also available in video format here. I strongly encourage everyone to watch that as it allows you to visualize everything I discuss in the scouting report.

Strengths

  • Route Running
    • Very technically sound as a route runner.
    • Great at selling routes inside and then breaking outside to create separation.
    • Changes direction and speeds well to separate from DBs.
    • Experience playing from the slot and from the outside (last two seasons 462 slot snaps, 432 wide snaps).
    • Can win to all levels of the field on a variety of different routes.
  • Production
    • 2021 season
      • Won Biletnikoff Award for best receiver in college football.
      • At Pitt – 100 catches for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.
      • Displayed a versatile skillset – separated well, dynamic with ball in his hands and even won on contested catches (15 CTC on 27 CTT).
  • YAC Ability
    • 39 missed tackles forced over three seasons.
    • 21 missed tackles forced in 2021 was fifth in power five amongst WRs.
    • Dynamic with the ball in his hands, changes directions and speeds well – tough for defenders to keep him in front of them.
    • Can be utilized on screens and short passes – get the ball in his hands and see what he can do.

Weaknesses

  • Limited Upside/Athleticism
    • Doesn’t stand out from a physical profile perspective.
    • His combination of size and speed isn’t someone you see go first round very often.
    • Combine- 5’11 ⅛”, 173 pounds is pretty short and light combined with a 4.49 40 yards dash which is good, but not too impressive at his size.

Final Evaluation

Pos Rank: WR3

Projection: First Round

Addison projects very well as a good no. 2 or 3 receiver in most offenses, which is valuable in the NFL.  His upside isn’t great, but he’s still a first round player in this class.
