Will Kenny Pickett struggle to throw an NFL football?

Kenny Pickett has a tight grip on the football here, but does he have too small of hands? Daniel Kelly of NFL Draft Diamonds breaks down his thoughts on PIckett’s potential hand problem.

It just keeps getting more interesting with Pitt quarterback (QB) Kenny Pickett.

Not only is he a one-hit statistical wonder, with much better statistics in 2021, compared to his three previous seasons at Pitt, but now his hands may be too small to even grip an NFL regulation sized football?

I am not a Pickett fan to begin with. It is fishy how PFF’s 67th ranked FBS QB (July 2020) is now supposedly a top-10 selection in the 2022 NFL draft. He did not even show up on PFF’s first round mock until Dec 6.

I put a 5th round grade on Pickett for SI ALL LIONS and Draft Diamonds before I even knew this new explosive information.

It’s a peculiar as using aluminum bats in college baseball, but the NFL regulation football is actually larger in size than the football they use in college. Normally this is not an issue, but it certainly could be an issue for Pickett.

It struck me to begin with, why he was wearing gloves this season. It would seem the gloves probably helped him grip the college football better.

Now this comes to light:

To put Pickett’s hand size in context take a look at the hand sizes of other NFL QB’s – – and then look at their fumble rates.

All eyes will be on Pickett at the upcoming Senior Bowl. Pickett, who opted out of the Peach Bowl, has decided the Senior Bowl is more important to participate in (showing he cares more about himself than his school).

I do not remotely understand the fascination with Pickett after evaluating him in five games in 2021. Pickett is a bust waiting to happen. Somebody better check those gloves he is wearing for stickum at the Senior Bowl.
