What is your name?

Maty Mauk

What is your Height/Weight?

6’ / 210

What is your position?

Quarterback

Where do you play college football?

Missouri & Eastern Kentucky

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

I’ve always loved doing things with the special Olympics or people that are less fortunate than people in my shoes, to see how excited they are it is the best feeling to me.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Biology Lab because I’m not into science.

Where are you from?

Kenton, Ohio

Who is your role model, and why?

My father and brother because they are both tremendous leaders and taught me everything that I know. They’ve both been through a ton of adversity that showed me how to get through adversity I faced.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Football, basketball, baseball, and track

Did you play any other positions in football?

Played linebacker in the state championship game my senior year in high school.

At your position, what separates you from others?

Ability to extend plays and make throws from anywhere on the field.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I always look for tendencies the defense may give away to show what they do, rather it’s the hand a guy puts down, where backers are aligned, stacks that show pressure, or depth of defenders.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Other than the top D-line in the country every day in practice I would say Myles Garett from Texas A&M.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I would say a little of Drew Brees and Russel Wilson because I am mobile to make plays and have a strong arm that can make every throw.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Getting dismissed from Missouri, I had to really lean on God, family, and my fiancé because I needed to be around the people who really care about me and not using me for things that they wanted. I’ve had to fight every day for over a year to prove everyone who I really am and what I’m capable of doing on the field, also who I really am off the field.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Not really, just getting focused and going over the game plan.

What is your biggest strength?

Playmaker

What is your biggest weakness?

Size

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I am a winner that has won since I was a freshman in high school. I do whatever it takes to win games, I have a huge arm and quick release. I can make every throw and can extend plays when necessary. I know how to lead others to the ultimate goals and get the most out of them on and off the field.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

I always liked Drew Brees because he wasn’t the NFL sized quarterback that proved everyone wrong and has made himself into one of the best in the league.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Jesus Christ, my Grandpa Mauk who passed away when I was young, and my Uncle Tom Barrington who played in the NFL and passed away when I was young as well.

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

A house for me and my soon to be wife.

“QB Maty Mauk has been training with former Dolphins QB Jay Fiedler and our team @BMARTINSPORTS for the last month and he has been incredible. His film study reminds me of Trevor Siemian of the Broncos and his athleticism and competitiveness remind me of Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco of the Ravens that I was blessed to work with. Wherever Maty lands, that team and city will be thrilled with his contagious leadership ability and winning attitude and skill set.”
