Man how I missed this, writing previews and recaps for the Patriots is back! New England will have a tough week one opponent in the NFC Defending Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to make it tough on the Patriots offensive players and defensive players. A true first test for this new and improved Patriots offense. Will the Patriots defense be able to keep the high power Philadelphia Eagles offense under control? If so, New England will need to start scoring some points and make this a tough game on the Jalen Hurts led Eagles.

Patriots offense vs Eagles defense:

Mac Jones and Bill Belichick know that this Eagle defense is one of the best, Philadelphia is loaded in the secondary and the front seven. Mac Jones has some new weapons on his offense who may play big factors in this game however, the biggest addition to this New England offense is not a player. Bill O’Brien has come back to New England to help improve the Patriots offense, a completely new and improved offensive scheme is exactly what New England needed. Weather in Foxborough is expected to be showers, run the ball. Let Mac Jones get settled down in the game.  Quick passes, RPOs, Run attack will win this game for the Patriots.

Patriots defense vs Eagles offense:

Jalen Hurts is going to deal with the Patriots front seven and improved Patriots secondary. New England’s defense has multiple players to worry about other than Jalen Hurts. AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and D’Andre Swift are a few names to watch out for. New England will have to adjust to Philadelphia’s high-powered offense as the game progresses.  The young Patriots secondary will have their hands full vs the talented offense the Eagles have formed, one of the biggest questions on defense will be can the Patriots contain Jalen Hurts? New England tends to struggle with containing mobile QBs. Steve Belichick may have to QB Spy a linebacker or a box safety to make sure Hurts doesn’t break a long run off.

Karver’s Thoughts:

I am looking forward to a good football game this Sunday, expect the Patriots to get the ball out quick either by RB/WR Screens, Quick slants, or RPOs (Run-Pass-Option). Both sides of the ball will need to do their parts, the defense will need to keep the Eagles offense under control. Bill O’Briens new and improved offense will need to score and get a good strong lead vs the Philadelphia Eagles.

Karver’s Prediction:

Ezekiel Elliott scores first TD of the season.

Patriots win 28-17.
