When Brandon Weeden was asked what he learned about Brian Hoyer starting, his response was Don’t Get HURT

When Brandon Weeden went down with an injury he was not expecting to have either Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer take his position.  Well Weeden response to what he learned from Brian Hoyer this week was classic and real:

“Don’t get hurt,” Weeden said, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I don’t know how else to put it. Injuries suck. They happen. Things happen for a reason and we’ll see how it plays out.”

Weeden has been ruled out for this week’s Cincinnati Bengals game with his sprained thumb, giving Hoyer the third start of his career, second with the Browns. Weeden admitted he’s not guaranteed to get his job back when he is healthy.

“You know, at this point where we’re at, that’s out of my control,” he said. “My focus is making sure this thumb continues to make the steps that allow me to get back and be 100 percent.”

I honestly like Brandon Weeden and I hope that he can somehow get back on the field.  If Hoyer wins this week, Weeden could be done in Cleveland.
