Vikings will need to rely on Adrian Peterson hard over the next couple years
“Demands more from the running back position from all positions, but definitely from the running-back position,” Peterson said. “Just being able to be out on the perimeter more, more involved in the pass game and just being versatile. I feel like, you know, in the past we kinda have been predictable. I’m sure you guys have wrote stories about being predicable in the past seven years. You won’t be able to write that story this year,” Peterson said. “This is what I’ve been looking for, you know, for the past seven years and now I feel we have an offense that, you know, fits our talent.”
Peterson will alleviate a lot of pressure from the Vikings quarterback, whoever that might be. If the team is grooming Teddy Bridgewater the Vikings will need to rely on Adrian Peterson heavily for at least the next three years. It is a little crazy to think the team let Toby Gerhart walk in free agency, but the Vikings like their back-ups. If Peterson can stay healthy watch out, he could very well break Emmitt’s rushing record. The only things slowing him down is his age. At the age of 29, the decks are stacked against him.
