Tulane RB Darkwa drawing a lot of interest as draft nears

One of the most complete & underrated RB’s of the 2014 class is Tulane’s Orleans Darkwa. Behind a less-than-ideal offensive line, Darkwa overcame injury to become a bellcow for the Green Wave. As a senior, he often was the only viable offensive threat, when the passing game & run-blocking were letting him down. A threat as both a runner (over 2,000 career yards); pass-receiver (over 500 career yards) and kick-returner, Darkwa is one of the best “bang for your buck” backs available.

On April 11th, Darkwa put any doubters on notice, measuring a solid 5’11, 212 pounds and running a 4.46 40 yard dash at Tulane Pro Day, where many assumed that only WR Ryan Grant was the only “real” prospect. Since that time, interest in Darkwa has boosted, and I’ve confirmed that 8 NFL teams have contacted Orleans of late for contact verification. Among those teams are the Titans, Dolphins, Texans, Raiders, and Bears. The 2013 New Orleans Bowl MVP now has a legitimate shot at being picked up late in the draft on Saturday.
