NFL DRAFT DIAMONDS

There have already been 3 more missed extra points than the entire 2013 season

belichickLast year there were 1,321 extra point attempts, and out of those thousand plus attempts only 5 total kickers missed their target.  This is basically a free point.  So instead of doing away with the extra point and the kicker all together the NFL tried a new rule. In the first two weeks of preseason the NFL changed the extra points to a 33 yard field goal.  This has made a pretty big change.  In just 133 attempts kickers have already missed 8.  That is 3 more than the entire year in 2 weeks.  The percentage is down and the NFL will like that.

Bill Belichick has alternatively proposed to abolish extra points entirely or move the extra points back to the 25-yard line, creating a 43-yard extra point. The league originally debated moving the extra point to the 20-yard line, creating a 38-yard extra point.

What do you think?  Should the NFL keep the longer extra point?
