Robert Mathis comes back to take the NFL sack lead with 2 big time sacks today

Robert Mathis went into the day with 17.5 sacks a half a sack behind Robert Quinn of the St. Louis Rams.  Quinn was able to get a sack on Russell Wilson, but Mathis somehow was able to finish with 2 sacks.  The former FCS leader in sacks when he played for Alabama A & M has actually come back and reclaimed a sack title.  Mathis has a huge year this year, and has played extremely well.

Andrew Luck threw for 282 yards and one touchdown, and Adam Vinatieri became the seventh member of the NFL’s 2,000-point club Sunday as the Colts routed Jacksonville 30-10 before watching their longshot hope of earning a first-round playoff bye vanish in Cincinnati.

The Colts will still have a tough road ahead of them, but they are a team that can do some damage when they get the opportunity.
