Redskins sign former UCF Knight punter Blake Clingan

Today the Washington Redskins signed a punter. I know this is not exciting news for many people but as a special teamer myself I am happy for a punter.  Especially a punter from Florida.  Today Blake Clingan the 6’3 punter finally landed back onto an NFL roster.  Clingan was formerly with the Detroit Lions
In college Clingan appeared in 12 games and ended the season with 39 punts for an average of 41.8 yards an attempt including seven touchbacks, 15 fair catches and 16 punts landing inside the 20 yard line.
Jay Gruden knows quite a bit about Clingan. He was in Orlando with the Predators with the Arena Football League and the United Football League throughout Clingan’s entire college career.
