Raiders have released LaMarr Woodley; Save 5.187 million in cap
Today the Oakland Raiders released linebacker LaMarr Woodley according to CSN Bay Area. Releasing Woodley comes without penalty. The Raiders save $5.187 million against the salary cap without adding any dead money with the transaction.
News broke last week that strong safety Tyvon Branch would also be released before the league year begins on March 10 and teams can start signing free agents. ESPN reports that Branch will be released on Monday.
The Raiders already have the second most cap space and with these moves the team will have even more money. Expect the Raiders to make a huge push in free agency come March 10th.
