Word from coach Mike McCarthy that Brandon Bostick would miss “a couple of weeks” with a lower leg injury created a new wrinkle in the race to fill Jermichael Finley’s old spot and determine which guys would stick on the 53-man roster.
McCarthy would not say whether the injury was related to the broken foot that landed Bostick on injured reserve last year and caused him to miss off-season workouts and get off to a slow start in training camp. However, McCarthy said surgery wasn’t necessary and it wasn’t a devastating injury.
