NFL teams can give signing/roster bonuses, and guaranteed deals to Practice squad players now
The NFL has changed their policies after 20 years and it could shift good players released this week to sign with a team’s practice squad by offering money.
This sounds crazy but now NFL teams can give a P/S player guaranteed deals, roster bonuses and signing bonuses.
@diannaESPN: Just learned from a NFL league source the NFL has reversed its 20 year policy on prohibiting non-salary items in practice squad contracts.
@diannaESPN: This means clubs can give signing bonus, salary guarantees, and roster bonuses to players on Practice Squad.
So remember this when you see a solid football player get cut. Whoever has the most bread can sign the player to their Practice Squad. This will make this interesting.
