New England Patriots sign a small school mammoth to their practice squad.

Today the New England Patriots signed a very solid offensive tackle in Patrick Ford to their practice squad.  Ford is a very big, massive tackle that can play any position on the line.  The former Eastern Kentucky standout was famous for throwing guys around in the Ohio Valley Conference.

He opened up huge holes for their running back Matt Denham and Ford was able to give his quarterback time to hit wide receiver Tyrone Goard for huge yardage.  Ford was a very prominent player in the OVC, because of his athleticism.  He is a very strong kid, with a great first step.  He might be asked to move inside, but no matter what, I think Ford will be able to hold up well against NFL talent. If he can run and perform well after his injury at EKU he could surprise many people in New England.

Earlier this year I had an interview with Patrick and you can read that here.
