Morris Claiborne is once again ruled out

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has been ruled out Monday night at Chicago, marking the fourth time in the last five games that he hasn’t played because of a hamstring injury.

Claiborne returned to play against the Giants on Nov. 24 but aggravated his hamstring injury. He didn’t practice this week.

“He was wanting to get back and we were wanting him back against the Giants and we probably pushed him back a little too soon,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Friday on KRLD-FM. “I’ve heard criticism out there that he’s not playing through the pain. I think it’s just the opposite. If anything, he probably pushed himself back a week early and therefore re-injured the same hamstring.

“But it shouldn’t be as long, but he’s still not ready to go and we have to make sure that when we put him back out there again that he’s 100 percent ready to go. I know any time that you have good football players who have injuries and they’re not able to achieve what they want to achieve for themselves and the team, it’s frustrating for both. We have a lot of confidence in Mo. I think he’ll make a full recovery. I still think he’s going to have a great career here in Dallas.”

I understand it is an injury, but Morris Caliborne has really been struggling in the NFL. With 71 tackles and only 2 interceptions do you feel the Cowboys are regretting trading up to draft him?
