Lions sign LB; Release Justin Jackson
Today the Detroit Lions signed Shamari Benton, an undrafted rookie out of Central Michigan, was a tackling machine for the Chippewas the past two years, tallying 237 stops.
The 230-pounder impressed scouts with his strength, putting up 30 reps on the bench press during his pro day in March. That would have tied him for the best showing at his position during the scouting combine.
